Something I need is variability.
Whether it's in places, routine, diet, books, movies, people, or music, I find that adding variability and experiencing different things leads to an overall more enriching life. However experiencing different things isn't the end itself, but merely a means to the end, which is to be inspired.
I often find that the easiest way to find inspiration is to do one small thing differently. For example: take a different route to work. Maybe you'll find different flowers to stop and smell.
That said, here are three songs picked up along a different route:
Reading A Wave by Arp
This one falls under the fringes of a few different playlists: ambient, sleepy/dreamy tunes, modern classical-ish, atmospheric, and I suppose electronic (broadly?)
Lemonade by CocoRosie
Between the distorted voice, sparse piano taps, and curious imagery, this song is both creepy and compelling.
Shimmer by Sinjin Hawke
Can a song be both rich and ethereal? Like biting into a flaky butter croissant? This one comes with visuals (but not of pastries).
Happy listening,
Angela
